- HOW LARGE IS THE CANOPY? — When it’s open, the canopy has a 46-inch arc and a 40-inch diameter. The arc—or depth of the “dome”—is important, because this will help keep you dry, even when the rain is coming down at an angle. When it’s closed, the entire length of the zipping carrying case is less than 14 inches, so it is compact enough to fit into a purse, briefcase, or backpack.
- HOW STURDY IS IT? — The WindFarer is made to last. The canopy’s quick-dry fabric is thicker than most umbrellas (210t pongee instead of the standard 180t) so it resists tearing. The ribs are made of steel-reinforced fiberglass and the shaft is made of steel (no aluminum!), all of which makes for a flexible, heavy duty construction that won’t break when you need it the most. Also, the case helps you keep your WindFarer in mint condition when it’s not being used.
